Ron Spiker
Owner, Chief Flight Instructor

Ron is the Owner and Chief Pilot and Flight Instructor here at Spiker Helicopters. He obtained his Private Airplane certificate in 1981 and Commercial Helicopter certificate in 1982. He’s an Airline Transport Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument in helicopters with over 3,200 total flight hours and over 1,400 hours as a flight instructor. He has an Instrument Helicopter rating, is a Ground Instructor Advanced and Instrument, and holds a Repairman’s Certificate for building an experimental helicopter. Ron actively flies tours in the Pittsburgh area and provides flight training regularly in Enstrom and Brantly helicopters. He is currently one of the highest time active flight instructors in Brantly helicopters (over 1,200 hours in Brantlys) and is in demand for all phases of piloting; including introductory flights, insurance check-outs, pre-purchase evaluation flights, primary and advanced flight instruction, emergency procedures, cross-country delivery, and more. Ron is checked out in the Bell 47, Robinson R-22, Brantly (all models), Enstrom 28/280 (all models), Hiller 12C and Hughes/Schweizer 269/300 helicopters. He is also a US Army veteran.
